The most common inner saboteurs for me are: Judge, Stickler/Perfectionist, Hyper-Achiever, Restless.

The most common enemies of learning for me are: The inability to admit I don’t know, addiction to novelty, “I don’t have time”, “I should already know”

I think I am already doing what my wise self would advise. Learn about your shortcomings, and how to overcome them. Learn how to face your fears. In short, continue with Parzival Academy.

I try to choose friends who uplift me and are positive and encouraging. As I settle in to a new community, I am working on meeting new people who encourage me to be a better person.

One rule I have that I have recently been struggling with is the self expectation of perfection. When something isn’t done on time or exactly like I wanted it, I tend to be harsh with myself.

I think a much more fair rule would be to do my best, and focus on what I did accomplish.

A frequent trigger for me is confrontation. I can sometimes end up lashing out, even though part of me doesn’t want to. I have found that if I stop and reflect for a minute I can sometimes find an inner peace, and reach a degree of coherence. Another trigger for me is novelty. I feel excited and ready to start something new. However, I usually end up abandoning another project or two in the process. I then become frustrated when I don’t complete anything.

I frequently fall in to both extremes. There are times I will push ahead on something with a false sense of courage, usually resulting in ac poor outcome. Because of the previous experience, I will then over plan and over thing, getting nothing done. I then become frustrated, and throw myself into it, falling back into a false courage. This creates a never ending cycle. I need to learn to balance both courage and carefulness.

When I am in fulfillment, I am content that I am where I belong, and I have balance in my life.

    Nature

As I sit here in wonder, on the shore of Bear Lake, A marvelous sight to I behold. I look at a view, wonderfully made, of rock, of water, of fog, and of trees. All around me are marvelous sounds, birdsong, wind, water, and life. One cannot describe, with mere human words, the majesty and wonder of nature. You can say “This is a tree” and Water is H2O”, but on their own they are sterile and lifeless. But nature, with infinite wisdom, takes trees and water, rock and sky, wind and birdsong, and creates a masterpiece like none other.

    I Am Nature

I am a marvelous sight to behold.

I am wonderfully made of rock, water, fog, and trees.

I produce marvelous sounds, like those of birdsong, wind, water, and life itself.

One cannot describe with mere human words the majesty and wonder of my being.

To say I am a tree or made up of elements is sterile and lifeless.

But I, with my infinite wisdom, take trees, water, sky, wind, and birdsongs, and create a masterpiece like none other.

Inability to admit I don’t know: This one can impact all areas of my life. It can be hard on the ego to say a simple “I don’t know”

I should already know: Very similar to the one above. I often feel like a burden when I need something repeated.

Addiction to Answers / Needing constant clarity: I sometimes struggle to let my over detailed plans go and just enjoy the ride called life.

I have no time: Time management is one thing I can improve on a fair bit.

Addiction to novelty: I love starting new things, but often don’t finish them. This also doesn’t help my time management.

I need to manage my time better.

By not managing my time properly, I sometimes miss out on things I want or need to do.

I think most of my time management issues stem from procrastination and addiction to novelty.

I have had several times when I managed my time very well. I have the skills, I simply need to hone and use them.

How I am when things go well: Calm, easygoing, and I tend to get a lot done.

How I am when things go poorly: I tend to just hunker down and try to ride it out until things improve.

Hello eveyone, my name is James Neph. I was homeschooled all the way from Kindergarten to 12t grade, with Waldorf influences. I am an Eagle Scout and a member of the Order of the Arrow, Scouting’s National Honor Society. My first vehicle was my grandfather’s 1990 Chevy Pickup. Restoring it gave me a love of auto mechanics. After graduating last year, I started an apprenticeship with a local mechanic. It was amazing. In June of this year, my family moved from just outside Atlanta, Georgia to the Ozarks of Missouri. To add to the excitement, the Order of the Arrow had a trip planned to Juneau Alaska early July! After returning from an amazing time in Juneau, I got a part time job working at my local Walmart. My goal is to move towards opening a mechanics shop some day. I believe this program can help me find the direction and confidence to take the steps towards starting a business, and generally improve my outlook on life. Some of my hobbies include camping, auto repair, and computer building/repair. I can’t wait to meet you all in Denver!
